The permanent all wheel drive of the new Golf is one of the most modern and efficient systems of its kind in the world. Volkswagen is in the latest version of the Golf 4MOTION a four wheel drive with an advanced Haldex coupling of the fifth generation, the intelligently controlled 4MOTION system weighs 1.4 pounds less than the previous system, does not require an accumulator and extremely responsive to all conceivable driving influences. Volkswagen is offering the new Golf 4MOTION in Europe in three equipment versions (Trendline, Comfortline, Highline) and with two equally high-torque, economical turbo diesel engines (TDI). The common-rail four-cylinder 77 kW / 105 PS and 110 kW / 150 hp and consumes only 4.5 respectively 4.7 liters fuel per 100 kilometers.How efficient is the four-wheel drive Golf, a consumption comparison between the retired Golf 4MOTION shows in the 103 kW / 140 hp TDI version and the new 150 hp. The 10 hp stronger Golf 4MOTION of 2013 consumes 0.8 liters (15 percent) less diesel.

The new models are equipped similarly to the standard front wheel drive versions with a start stop system and recuperation. Other standard features are already in the basic version (Trendline) features such as four-wheel EDL (electronic differential locks on both axles), the front and rear axle differential lock XDS, the electronic stabilization program, a multi collision brake, seven airbags, daytime running lights, air conditioning, all-round power windows, a multifunction display (trip computer) and a TFT display with touch screen operation.

2013 VOLKSWAGEN BEETLE CONVERTIBLE

2013 Volkswagen Beetle Cabriolet comes with 152mm longer (4,278mm), 84mm wider (1,808mm) and 29mm lower (1,473mm). Cargo capacity has gone up by 24 liters to 225 liters, while the rear passengers can enjoy an additional 12mm of headroom.

The new Beetle Convertible will be available in three engine options which are  2.5-liter inline five-cylinder engine, rated at 170 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque. It will be mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. The 2.0-liter diesel four-cylinder engine, rated at 140 hp and 236 lb-ft of torque. It can be mated to a six-speed manual or a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Volkswagen decided to stick with a traditional soft-top rather than incorporate a folding hardtop on the car. When the top is down, it lies flat, giving good rear visibility. Although the top looks compact when furled, it is actually wide and long when in place, an action that takes a little over 10 seconds at the touch of a button.

The shape and use of color for the dashboard harkens back to the design of the very first Beetle models and helps to create a highly individual cabin. The simple layout and clean graphics are the same as the Beetle Coupe’s.The metal dash really does look rather good and the glovebox is an absolute spitting image of the original.

2013 VOLKSWAGEN ECO UP

The enviro-friendly Volkswagen Eco Up uses a newly developed version of the 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine found in the standard Volkswagen Up, generating 50kW of power and 90Nm of torque, while consuming 2.9kg of compressed natural gas (CNG) per 100km which is equivalent to emissions of 79 grams of CO2 per kilometre.

The interior space of the Eco Up does not suffer in the CNG version as the three tanks are in the subfloor. Two are for the CNG, and the other acts as a backup and contains gasoline. This gives the car a range of 380 km (236 miles) with just the natural gas while the gasoline in the reserve gasoline tank adds another 220 km (137 miles) of driving range.

However, one of the greatest benefits of natural gas cars like the VW eco up is the fact that these models are not limited to being powered by just natural gas, but can also be powered by alternative fuels such as renewable biomethane.

Sporting two underfloor natural gas tanks that combine for a total volume of 72 litres (11kg) of  (compressed natural gas) CNG, and a 10-litre petrol reserve tank, the Eco Up sees CO2 emissions reduced by 24 per cent compared with petrol engines when run on pure natural gas.
