EMAS VS City Car? Which one do you find most attractive? In terms of looks, it may differ but overall, they are actually same. Based on EMAS, Proton gives the 3 door variant to Lotus for European market while EMAS will be in local market soon. I personally like the front looks of Lotus City Car, EMAS rear lamp, head lamp & interior.
LOTUS CITY CAR VS PROTON EMAS
The Lotus City Car Concept is mainly driven by an electric motor which develops a power of 54 kW or same with 73 hp.
It is mated to a small 1.2-liter naturally aspirated engine that can used gasoline or ethanol, which is basically a generator to ensure recharge lithium-ion battery when the vehicle is in motion.
In all-electric mode, the battery life is only 60 kilometers. However, in hybrid mode it goes to 500 kilometers.
total vehicle weight of less than 1400 kg
torque instantly available 240 Nm
Acceleration : 0 – 100 km/h (0 – 62 mph) in 9 seconds and 0 – 50 km/h in only 4.5 seconds
Top Speed the Lotus City Car concept : 170 km/h or 106 mph
all this performance is achieved by a drivetrain that returns CO2 emissions of 60 g/km on the ECE-R101 test schedule
The CityCar concept is an urban electric car with a 14.8-kWh lithium battery pack that delivers a range of up to 37 miles (60 km) in electric-only mode.
The internal combustion engine is a flex-fuel-capable 47 hp, 1.2 liter three-cylinder gasoline engine that acts as a generator charging the battery pack up to 310 miles (500 km) miles.
Proton EMAS is powered by Lotus Range Extender Engine. It is a 1.2 liter 3-cylinder single cam 4 valves per cylinder engine that weighs only 56kg dry and is optimized for 2 RPM points – 20hp at 1,500rpm and 47hp at 3,500rpm. Peak torque is 107Nm at 2,500rpm.
