This time, its the Korean turns to show their expertise in developing hybrid technology. Introducing the Hyundai I-Flow. The flow doesnt stop in the name, it continues it self through out the shape of the body with the flawless contour and lines which contributes to exceptional aerodynamics.
The i-Flow is Hyundai’s first diesel hybrid and according to them, they would like to put the drivetrain into production by 2012.
Under the hood lies a 1.7 liter diesel engine augmented by two stage turbocharge system. The turbo diesel engine is then linked to a Lithium Ion-Polymer battery which powers an electric motors to give a very efficient and advanced hybrid powertrain particularly when partnered with i-flow’s six-speed.
With all the technology under the hood, Hyundai claims the i-Flow is capable of returning an average fuel consumption of just 78.4mpg with CO2 emissions of just 85g/km.
