HONDA PASSED ANOTHER MILESTONE – 200,000 CUTOMER MARK
KUALA LUMPUR, — Honda Malaysia Sdn Bhd has clocked another milestone by crossing its 200,000-customer mark.
Managing director and chief executive officer, Toru Takahashi, said the company has progressed and improved to fulfill the needs and demands of the people since its establishment in 2001.
In a statement here Tuesday, Takahashi said the company would be even more committed to strive further in providing products, sales and after-sales services at a reasonable price.
“It is also our utmost priority to contribute back to society through our Corporate Social Responsibility projects such as Honda Dreams Fund and Save Our Sumatran Rhino, he said.
Honda had served 1,591 customers in its debut in 2001 and the number grew to more than 17,000 in less than three years.
In 2006, IT recorded its first 100,000 customers.
The company still managed an upward sales performance this year, which was attributed to the City and Civic despite the tough economic situation.
As of Nov 30, 2009, its total sales grew 17 per cent year-on-year to 36,096 units.
Folllowing the overwhelming response, Honda Malaysia revised its sales target of 35,000 units to 38,000 units recently.
Honda Malaysia currently offers four completely-knocked-down units — City, Civic, Accord, CR-V — which contributed 40 per cent, 21 per cent, 18 per cent and 12 per cent respectively to the 200,000 sales.
The other five completely build-up models are Jazz, Stream, Civic Hybrid, Civic Type R and Odyssey.
