New year is coming soon, so do the diesel version of the 2009 Porsche Cayenne. Porsche had started their production on the 2009 Cayenne Diesel. The 3 liter turbocharged diesel v6 comes from Volkswagen group and it will be produced by Audi
The turbodiesel engine churns out 240 horsepower (176kw) and the engine is the ‘greenest’ of all Cayenne. The exhaust emission of the cayenne is 244 grams of CO2 per 100km. The number is close to the 3.0 liter Land Rover LC4 engine and the Mercedes Benz M-Class ML 280 and 320. The fuel consumption of the turbodiesel Cayenne is 9.3 liter per 100km (25 mpg) which is significantly cleaner than the 3.6 liter petrol version. A cleaner one would be the Porsche Cayenne Hybrid which just uses 9 liters for a 100 km trip, which is more than 26 mpg.
The horsepower of the turbodiesel is a bit slow but it has been compensated by the massive 406 ft-lb (550 nm) of torque.Hopefully, this will make up for any sluggishness. Regardless, this will likely be the slowest Cayenne currently available. Tiptronic S automatic transmission is standard.
The 2009 Porsche Cayenne Turbodiesel will be launched at February 2009 in Europe carrying a price tag of €47,250 (RM232,676.31, with current currency) before tax.
