WATCH Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton and superstar Jamiroquai from RM100 at this year’s Petronas Malaysian Grand Prix from April 3-5 at the Sepang International Circuit.

The ‘2 FOR 1’ value buy package from SIC ahead of the race weekend was launch at the Southern region roadshow campaign at the City Square in Johor Baru today.

“It’s not every day that we get to see the F1 followed by a superstar such as Jamiroquai so this is a rare opportunity,” said SIC CEO Razlan Razali.

“However, we at SIC want to make these event affordable for all and have started the value 2+1 value buy campaign.”

The campaign is valid for the lowest ticket price of RM100 which will admit one to the race and to the concert after it on Sunday.

The concert is among the added value for fans who attend the Petronas Malaysian Grand Prix.

“The Singapore F1 Grand Prix and the Petronas Malaysian Grand Prix are two different races with two different concepts,” said Razlan.

“We at SIC are in no competition with the Singapore GP. However, we don’t feel the threat as Sepang has been hosting the race for the past 10 years and have an advantage in the price war. The ticket prices at the Petronas Malaysian Grand Prix are among the cheapest tickets in the calendar making it affordable for all.”

“SIC, as the big brother of the Formula 1 in this region, are now offering more than just a race. Compared to Singapore which hosted their first race last year, we have now incorporated other fun activities and incentives for ticket buyers,” said Razlan

There is a grand prize for fans who purchase tickets during its official roadshows which is a full racing kit Mazda RX-8.

Packed with fun-filled programmes, fans visiting the F1 roadshows could indulge themselves with plenty of activities including F1 simulator games and pop quizzes while winning lucrative prizes including tickets to catch the Petronas Malaysian Grand Prix at the circuit.

Also at the road show, is the rare opportunity of having a close look at the BMW Sauber F1 2008 car which was driven by Nick Heidfeld.

Apart from the race tickets, fans could also have the opportunity to select a long list of collection of F1 teams and racing merchandise, which would also be on sale at the roadshows.

After Johor, the F1 roadshow would proceed to Penang to Highway Auto City in Juru and at Gurney Plaza, Penang from March 6 to 8. Its’ last stop would be at One Utama, Petaling Jaya from March 25 and 29.

“We are also offering a different kind of prize for the on-line purchases – two lucky winners will win a seat at our F1 Team Fun Kart at our go-kart circuit,” said Razlan adding other prizes on offer included bus track tour and F1 pit garage visits.

“These are priceless experience … getting a private tour of the F1 pit garage; competing against the F1 teams. Perhaps, even more precious to some than the Mazda RX-8,” said Razlan.

Priced as low as RM100, on-line purchases can be made by logging into SIC official website at www.sepangcircuit.com.

For Johor and other Southern region fans, tickets will also be available at the Johor Baru Automobile Association of Malaysia (AAM) office, Music Valley Johor Baru, MZ Printing and Trading and Suzuka Motorsports.
