A lot of hybrid car had surfaced on the market recently. Be it a concept a protoype or even a production model. Later at the Tokyo Auto Salon, Suzuki will introduce their new Swift plug-in hybrid which will be powered by both gasoline and electric.
There is not much details given by Suzuki. The displacement and the output figures still remain a question. The only detail that is clear is the car will be powered by a normal petrol engine coupled with an electric motor while power for the motor will come from a lithium ion battery.
As the name plug-in hybrid implies, owner of the car will be able to charge the car from the comfort of their own house via their own house electrical outlet. The car only runs on electric while the engine is there as a generator to recharge the battery once the power level is low.
The Suzuki Swift plug-in hybrid is still a concept and so the Japanese automaker has added certain features to distinguish it from the standard-powered production model. These include a new set of headlights and wheels for the exterior. On the inside, the Swift plug-in hybrid comes with its own cabin trim which also features lightweight seats for the driver and front passenger done in a ‘web-design’ material finish.
