SUBARU STELLA THE ELECTRIC CAR SET TO PRODUCTION
Subaru is set to test-market production models of its STELLA plug-in EV in Japan beginning from July. Around 170 units are planned for initial delivery, with pricing yet to be announced.
Specifications of the production version, which will have a max speed of 100kmh and range of 80km per charge, are expected to be the same as the latest prototype, which are on test with the Japanese Ministry of Environment in a few prefectures in the country.
Power has been increased to 63bhp, and torque is up by 20Nm to 170Nm, while the final vehicle is 50kg lighter, at 1,010kg. Other refinements include changes to the instrument panel and interior as well as the fitment of a smaller lithium-ion battery pack.
