Malaysian Grand Prix organisers SIC is giving a discount of up to 80% on tickets for students for this year’s race, which takes place on the Apr 3-5 weekend.

The RM500 Citrine seats in the Mall Area (grandstand), which are along the back-straight, will now be priced at RM100.

The Tower seats, located at Turn 15, which is the final corner of the circuit, will also be priced at RM100 for students instead of the usual RM500.

If you want a cheaper option, the RM200 ticket for the C-2 covered hillstand area, which overviews the back-half of the circuit, will go at a mere RM50.

Meanwhile, as part of its race weekend activities, the SIC has allocated eight slots for students for its Fun Kart race against F1, GP2 Asia and Formula BMW Pacific drivers on Apr 2.

A total of 130 students from various colleges and universities across the nation have confirmed their participation for the two-day qualifying round.

The first qualifying will be held this weekend, on Mar 21 at the Sepang Go-Kart Circuit, while the second qualifying session will be held the following weekend, on Mar 28.

Going back to the discount tickets – the special rate only applies to those who bring along their student identification cards when making the purchase. Speaking of which, these can only be purchased SIC’s official ticket counters at KL Sentral Kuala Lumpur or at the Flying Emporium at KLIA Domestic Arrival.
