Does the car looks familiar? Take a good look and you may spot some similarity between this car and the Perodua Myvi. Why? Because the Toyota Passo is actually the base model for Perodua Myvi. But not this specific model in the photos, but the previous model. As for the one disclosed here, it is actually the upcoming second generation of the Passo.
The second generation Passo will replace the first gen Passo which had been selling from 2004. The shape of the car doesnt change that much.It looks as if the model had only received some facelift. The new model will be available in 11 colours.
As we all know, Toyota is currently having some issuse with its Toyota Prius Brake deffect and the sticky accelerator deffect which had given a negative publicity to the carmaker. It might be difficult for the copmpany to reach target sales of 6,500 units monthly.
Similar to the previous model, buyer can opt for the 1.0-liter 1KR-FE powered model or a higher spec model which will be powered by the 1.3-liter 1NR-FE DVVT model. Both engine will be mated with a CVT gearbox.
The big question is, would our own Perodua Myvi receive a facelift or a makeover? If it does, will the CVT gearbox be under the new Myvi hood? What say you?
