  • ENGINE RPM NAIK DAN GEARBOX BUNYI MERAUNG MASA TURUN BUKIT – NORMAL ATAU PROBLEM?
  • REMOVE THE ANNOYING 180/140KM/H SPEED CUT WITH AFTERMARKET SPEED METER – APEXI RSM AND PIVOT SPEED METER

Most of us should have know that a Japanese Domestic Model (JDM) will have a speed cut at either 180KM/H for normal car and 140KM/H for Kei Car (K-Car). Thats why if you take a peek at any japanese sports car such as the the Nissan Skyline GTR or Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, the meter show only 180 KM/H. But in reality, the car can go faster than that speed. But it is limited to that speed by Japanese authority. And if you had driven a souped up JDM car, you will be annoyed when you reach the 180 mark. The speed cut acts vigorously and for some moment you will think that something had happened to your car.

There is few ways to eliminate the speed cut. We can rechip the ECU, replace the ECU with an aftermarket high performance one or we can use a standalone ECU. All of this methods is quite expensive. But there is still another method of removing speed cut. This method is the favourite method among car tuner, which is the use of aftermarket speed meter such as the Apexi RSM, Pivot Speed Meter and Ultra Speed meter.

    Ultra Speed Meter

Not only they can eliminate speed cut, they come with extra features as well. Some of it will display the RPM of the engine as well.Other than RPM, most of the meters will feature lap timing, 0-100 KM/H timing, 0-400m timing and etc.An beside displaying all those data, the meter it self will make your interior look cool and sportier.

Since I thought of getting one for myself, I decided to compile the specs of some of the famous speed meters in Malaysia.
