Sime Darby Auto ConneXion Sdn Bhd will be bringing in its latest iteration next month along with three other models.

The refreshed model is defined by its redesigned front grille and bumper as well as new LED head and tail light.

Inside, the switchgear has been redesigned and rearranged, with the biggest change being the replacement of its traditional gauges in the cockpit with an LCD screen projection.

Drivers can now switch between its virtual gauges to display various screens for navigation and vehicle information.

Auto ConneXion will be bringing in the Range Rover with the turbocharged 3.6-litre V8 diesel engine.

“We find that many Range Rover customers, even those with a preference for petrol engines, chose the diesel engines over its petrol driven counterparts,” said Mohd Hazem Abd Rahman, managing director of operations for Land Rover Malaysia.

“But we are still looking into bringing in the 5.0-litre V8 petrol powered engines.”

Hazem said that the V8 diesel will have no problems with Malaysia’s diesel quality as its engine is designed to be robust and can accommodate lower grades of diesel without any issues.

Last year has been difficult for the brand and Auto ConneXion expects to sell just 10 to 15 units of the Range Rover this year due to the economy and supply shortages.

For 2010, however, Hazem expects sales to be between 20 and 30 units.

Expect the 2010 Range Rover TDV8 to be launched alongside the new Discovery 4 and the face lifted version of the Range Rover Sport with the 5.0-litre petrol driven Jaguar V8 or 3.6-litre diesel V8 next month.

Price and specification are yet to be confirmed.
