Peugeot has released details about the second concept vehicle its planning for next month’s Paris Motor Show, the first being the previous ‘RC…’ hybrid GT concept. The latest study is the all-new Prologue Concept but unlike the RC…, which is unlikely to enter production anytime soon, this one is preview of the upcoming 3008 compact crossover vehicle expected to be launched next year.
Derived from the fusion of different worlds, the Peugeot Prologue Concept car lifts a corner of the veil on a new type of vehicle. Anticipating future trends, the Peugeot Prologue Concept proposes an innovative combination of ideas at a number of different levels: its architecture, its style, its interior ambience, its modularity, its original high-tech equipment and also its new generation hybrid technology.
The Prologue is a perfectly normal-looking 5-door hatchback with a new, less-horrific take on the gaping-maw look with which the Peugeot range has been saddled in recent years. Now it just looks angry, instead of like a boxer about to spit out his mouth guard.
Based on the platform of the Citroën C4 Picasso, the Prologue uses a claimed “new generation” hybrid powertrain which gets 200hp (kW).It offers unexpected levels of performance combined with significantly reduced CO2 emissions: 109 g/km in the combined cycle, or 0 g/km in electric only model.
Jom komen!
