PERODUA LAUNCHES ViVA ELITE EXCLUSIVE EDITION AND NEW SERVICE CENTRE
Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd, or more affectionately known as Perodua, Malaysia’s leading compact carmaker, today launched its latest ViVA variant, the ViVA Elite Exclusive Edition, in conjunction with the opening of its new 2S (service and spare parts) centre in Bandar Bukit Puchong.
“This dual launch symbolises our commitment to our customers as we continue our journey on improving both sales and service satisfaction. This will no doubt give a peace of mind to all our customers,” Perodua Managing Director Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh said.
Aminar commented that the progress of the National Key Economic Areas was expected to boost the domestic economy and improve the purchasing power and this would contribute significantly to the motor vehicle industry. He also added that Perodua’s sales target has been revised upwards from 176,000 units by year-end to 185,000.
“We believe we can surpass the target if the momentum continues,” Aminar told reporters.
The ViVA Elite is the best selling ViVA variant since it was launched in July 2009 and the ViVA Elite Exclusive Edition is the latest in the ViVA Elite series, equipped with new features both inside and out, including the Exclusive Edition grade mark, custom coloured alloy rims and leather seats.
Priced at RM42,000 on the road, this new variant comes with a new colour – classy purple and it is aimed at both young urban male and female customers looking to buy their first car or families looking for an additional car.
The variant also comes with two other colours – midnight blue and ivory white.
“We aim to sell 600 units of the ViVA Elite Exclusive Edition a month and will complement the range of ViVA variant currently under our line up,” Aminar said.
“A total of 240,000 ViVA units have been sold since it was first launched in 2007 and the ViVA Elite is the best selling variant from the model line up, consisting of 41.4% or 24,000 units from a total of 58,000 units of the ViVA sold in the first 10 months of the year. That is an average of 2,400 ViVA Elite units per month this year!!” he added.
When asked about the partnership with Daihatsu, Aminar commented that it had been a very successful venture between a Malaysia and Japanese company,“We look forward to continuing it for another 17, 30 years.”
