Naza Corporation Sdn Bhd does not expect its sales to slow down despite an increase in petrol price, said executive vice president Datuk Ahmad Ibrahim Thursday.
“With the petrol price increase, there will be an appeal for small-engine capacity vehicles,” he said at the handover ceremony of Naza Forza to Bernama TV at the Bernama headquarters here Thursday.
Also present were Bernama TV’s chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Suhaimi Abdullah and Bernama’s editor-in-chief Yong Soo Heong.
On Wednesrday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi announced the new price for petrol at RM2.70 per litre, up 40.6 percent.
Ahmad said the high fuel price would see a greater demand for small cars below 1.6 litres like Naza Forza, Spectra, Spectra 5, Suria and Bestari.
At the ceremony, 14 Naza Forza, which is an enhanced version of the Naza Sutera, were handed over to Bernama TV for the use of the news crew.
