MAZDA 2 TO BE INTRODUCED IN MALAYSIA TO COMPETE AGAINST TOYOTA VIOS AND HONDA CITY
BERMAZ, the local company which takes care of the Mazda brand here is planning to introduce the entry level Mazda2 here by end of this year.
The Mazda2, or also known as the Demio, will come in two body shapes – hatchback and sedan. Mazda is planning to use it to fight against the Toyota Vios and the Honda City. Currently, Vios is holding the fort as the number one non-national entry level sedan here with the City following closely.
Mazda will be assembling the car in Ford-Mazda Auto Alliance plant in Rayong.
MAZDA 2 SEDAN
Sources believe that Bermaz will stick to its current pricing strategy, which means the Mazda2 will be priced higher than the Vios or the City.
The hatchback will be priced even higher while the sedan will be the cash cow for the brand.
