Lexus has released the official photos and some details on their LF-Ch concept car. The 4 door hatchback is aimed to compete against the BMW 1 Series and Audi A3.
The concept model features a full hybrid drivetrain meaning that unlike mild-hybrids, it can be driven in a fully electric EV mode. Lexus did not disclose any other details on the powertrain – or about anything else for that matter.
The exterior and interior design continues to adhere to the Lexus L-finesse design philosophy, with swoops, creases and a taut organic shape.A few elements we failed to mention are the blacked-out B-pillars, integrated spoiler and rear door handles that fit within the C-pillar’s trim. The theme carries over inside, with a set of concave passenger compartments, aluminum and wood trim, ambient lighting in the headliner and Lexus’ Remote Touch controls (originally seen on the RX 450h), along with iPhone docks for the rear seat passengers.
European buyers should expect to see a toned-down production version of the LF-Ch available with both conventional and hybrid powertrain options sometime towards the end of 2010.
