Kia had officially launch their latest luxury sedan, the Kia Cadenza Sedan codenamed as the K7.The all new Cadenza is the replacement of the aging Kiaflagship sedan, the Opirus, also called as Amanti in some countries. But somehow, the looks of the Cadenza reminds me of the Camry and a bit of BMW 5 series.
The Cadenza is powered by a 3.5-litre V6 engine boasting 290hp and 338 Nm of torque. The power is passed to the front wheels via a six speed automatic transmission.0-100 km/h takes 7.2 seconds and it will continue to accelerate until the top speed of 230 km/h. There will be another two engine choices including an entry level 165bhp petrol engine.
Inside, the new sedanfeatures an equally contemporary and clean design. Among the many features is a ‘mood lighting strip’ that runs across the two-tier dashboard and all around the door trims, keyless entry and an engine ‘start’ button, reversing sensors, a reversing safety camera with interior mirror display screen and a powered extension for the driver’s seat cushion.
Even though the Cadenza is shorter than the Opirus, the extended wheelbase (up by 45 mm to 2,845 mm or 112”), additional exterior width and more compact rear suspension, are claimed to ensure more space for the passengers than the old model.
The Cadenza will make it debut overseas starting on next month at the Riyadh Motor Show in Saudi Arabia and followed by an appearance at Dubai Motorshow on 15 December.
