THE 125TH HONDA CIVIC HYBRID HITS THE ROAD
KUALA LUMPUR, – Honda Malaysia Sdn Bhd today announced that there are now 125 Second Generation Civic Hybrids on Malaysian roads, an important milestone for the company.
Honda Malaysia has also secured bookings for 13 Civic Hybrids.
Toru Takahashi, managing director and chief executive officer of Honda Malaysia Sdn Bhd said: “Honda is the pioneer and only car marque currently to offer hybrid vehicles to Malaysians.
“By driving a Civic Hybrid everyday, the owners collectively help reduce our carbon footprint by 125 tonnes annually.
“With more environmental conscious consumers in Malaysia, we believe an increasing number will opt for a hybrid, and pave the way for a greener country.”
Takahashi, in a statement today, also said that companies with a policy to reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions are seeing the excellent benefits that the Civic Hybrid offers.
The Second Generation Civic Hybrid was launched in August last year. In February this year, a new price tag of RM129,980 was introduced after taking into consideration the tax incentives for hybrid vehicles as announced in the Budget 2009.
By year-end, Honda Malaysia has target to sell 200 units of the Civic Hybrid and will continue to build awareness of the hybrid technology amongst Malaysians.
The Civic Hybrid has also received overwhelming global demand with sales of more than 270,000 units.
“With more environmental conscious consumers in Malaysia, we believe an increasing number will opt for a hybrid, and pave the way for a greener country.” – thats how it should be.
