Design Project: MX-LIBRIS – Taxi for Latin American Cities
The MX-LIBRIS, a taxi concept vehicle, has won the Red Dot Design Award, an international design competition.
The car was designed by Alberto Villarreal and aimed to be used in the Latin America. The MX-LIBRIS had won the Red Dot Design Concept 2008 Award of the Red Dot competition.
The MX-LIBRIS runs on fuel cell and it uses drive by wire technologies rather than the old hydraulic sytem which is more complicated. Other than giving less headache, the drive-by-wire system will ensure full optimization of the car space. The huge cabin space is obtainable by pushing its components to the extremities of the vehicle.
The intention of the design is to create something unique to Latin American cities and make the taxi a part of the landscape for tourists and visitors to enjoy. And the best part is the taxi will be a zero emissions vehicle.
