Driving on the road is so yesterday as people had start to drive their car on the sea.Am I kidding? Not exactly, what you are about to see is an amphibian car which is based on the Chevrolet Camaro. The car is named Python and the car can move either on the road or even on the sea.
To make things more interesting, customers can opt for various type of Chevrolet engine. The lowes specs would be a Corvette V8 engine sourced from the LS1 and for those hardcore adrenaline junkie, there is an option of the GM’s latest 6.2 liter supercharged LS9 which produces a hefty 64oHP in the Corvette ZR1.
The amphibian car weigh at 1,725kg and it is capable of reaching a top speed in excess of 100km/h on water and 160km/h on land.The Python is said to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in only 4.5 second and a 1/4 mile sprint woould take only 12.5 seconds.
Transforming from a car to a boat is immediate as the only thing that the driver has to do is put the transmission in neutral then engage the jet, and push a button to raise the wheels. When coming out of the water, the driver has to reverse the process.
The Phython is hand built and can be custom ordered to meet the customer demands.But bear in mind there is no soft / hard top and air-conditioning offered.And how much would all these cost? A completed one would cost at least $200,000 (RM690,00)
