About 100 companies from 10 countries are to exhibit their products and services at the bi-annual Auto Malaysia 2010 from March 19 to 21 here.
AUTO MALAYSIA EXHIBITION ON MARCH 19-21
Some 3,000 visitors are expected to patronise the event comprising entrepreneurs and professionals, said organiser Asif International (M) Sdn Bhd in a statement.
It said a workshop and a seminar themed “Natural Gas Vehicle (NGV): Saving Costs and Tapping Opportunities” will also be held for workshop operators, mechanics, vendors, car manufacturers and the public.
Asifgroup International chief executive officer Abdul Kabur Ibrahim said the exhibition, the first in a series of events staged by Asifgroup International, is to help equip the region’s auto industry with the knowledge of the latest products and services.
Currently, there are four passenger and commercial vehicle manufacturers, one motorcycle maker and nine motor vehicle assemblers in Malaysia, said Asif.
It said 76 car importers and 37 franchise holders of various models have been given approvals to import motor vehicles.
There are thousands of car workshops and auto accessory shops, it said.
It said sales of auto parts and accessories in Malaysia are estimated to be worth more than RM4.5 billion a year of which RM3.5 billion worth of products are imported.
It said Malaysia’s automotive sector ranks among the world’s top 20 and Malaysia is the largest passenger car market and producer in the Asean region.
