Subaru had officially introduced their Subaru Impreza STI Spec C in Japan.With the new Impreza Type C, subaru promised it wiil have quicker response and improved accelerating performance over the base model.
The Type-C is based on the standard Impreza Wrx STI.The engine still remain the same but the 2.0-liter boxer engine ecu had been remapped to tune the engine setting with the new ball bearing turbine. The combination gives out a total of 303 bhp at 6,400 rpm and 422 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm.
The Wrx STI has been sent to an extensive diet program.There is no specific figure on how much weight it has lost,but previously rumoured to be in the range of 70 kg.The weight reduction is achieved by the use of a smaller battery, an aluminum engine hood, and laminar glass on front and side windows.
To improve the car’s handling, Subaru’s engineers retuned the front and rear suspensions while they also made changes to the steering system. In addition, the rear LSD (Limited Slip Differential) system has been changed from a Torsen type to a mechanical type. The Spec C rides on newly designed 18-inch wheels shod in 245/40 R18 Bridgestone POTENZA RE070 tires.
Officially, the car comes in either Pure White or Sunrise Yellow.. All Subaru Impreza WRX STI spec C models comes standard with gold Brembo brake calipers. Previous rumors of a blacked out rear spoiler appear to be inaccurate. This edition is limited to 900 units, and pricing has not been released.
