Mercedes memperkembangkan lagi barisan E-Class baru dengan penambahan E 200 versi Gas Asli baru yang boleh digerakkan dengan kuasa oleh kedua-dua petrol dan gas asli yang lebih mesra alam. Versi baru ini akan memberikan 20 peratus kurang pelepasan CO2 dan akan mengurangkan kos bahan api pada keseluruhannya.

The revised version of the current-generation Mercedes E-Class was unveiled at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show. It offers an updated exterior look with one-piece assembly headlights, LED daytime running lights and the availability of two different grilles, a classic sedan grille with 3 louver look and star on the hood for the Luxury models or a sporty grille with an integrated star on the Sport models. 
With the E 200 Natural Gas Drive, Mercedes-Benz is adding a particularly economical and environmentally friendly variant to the E?Class family featuring bivalent drive. It can run on both petrol and affordable, environmentally friendly natural gas. The benefits of running the car on natural gas include a 20 percent reduction in CO2 emissions compared with comparable operation using petrol, and half the costs for fuel.
