The new Toyota Urban Cruiser will hit the UK and Europe showrooms on May. Sized smaller than the Toyota RAV-4, the Urban Cruiser is aimed to people between the age of 30 and 40 years old to lead an active lifestyle at the same time preserving mother nature.

There is two option of engine available for the five seater Urban Cruiser, a a 1.3-litre VVT-i petrol with 100bhp (75kW) and 132 Nm of torque, and a 1.4-litre D-4D AWD engine with 89bhp (66kW) and a maximum torque of 205 Nm between 1,800rpm and 2,800rpm.
The 1.4 D-4D is claimed to have the lowest CO2 emissions for any a AWD vehicle with only 130gm of CO2 for every kilometer of drive.The average fuel consumption of the Toyota Urban Cruiser is 7.7mpg.Both o fth eengines will be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.
Both the engine will have a choice of 2wd or a 4wd systems. The 4wd systems id fitted with Toyota’s Active Torque Control all-wheel drive system which can vary torque distribution between 100:0 and 50:50 front to rear, depending on road conditions.
Toyota plans to sell more than 25,000 units of the Urban Cruiser for the first year which 30 percent of the sales is expected to be the AWD version.
