Good news for all Jaguar fans in Malaysia.The all-new Jaguar XJ will make its public debut on 10th July at the Saatchi Gallery in London, and the car is set to be unveiled by renowned car enthusiast Jay Leno and Jaguar’s managing director Mike O’Driscoll.The list of VIP guests included celebrities, business leaders and other public figures.We hope that this Jaguar will come to Malaysia soon.Orders have been opened for the all-new Jaguar XJ and deliveries will begin in early 2010.

The all new Jaguar XJ used the Gen III petrol and turbo diesel engines.These are the 3.0-litre V6 diesel which has a base price of £52,500 or about RM300,000 in Malaysia (without tax), the 5.0-litre naturally aspirated V8 with 385hp (283kW), the 5.0-litre V8 supercharged making 510hp (375kW) and a new 470hp (346kW) version of the supercharged V8. Jaguar’s official combined economy figure for the diesel is 40.1 mpg and its C02 emissions figure is 184g/km. The rear wheels are driven through a 6-speed ZF automatic gearbox.

A standout exterior feature is the panoramic glass roof that not only creates extra interior light but also gives the XJ a lower roofline. Jaguar says it will offer both the standard car and the long-wheel-base version right from the get go. The latter is 125mm longer but both versions have a boot as big as 520 litres in volume.
Aerospace-inspired aluminium body architecture was used in constructing the XJ, making it lighter at least 150kg than its competitors. That of course improves performance and fuel consumption. The aluminium solution will allow Jaguar to better its carbon footprint because it has 50 percent recyclable material and is potentially able to save up to three tonnes of C02 gases per car.
Building on the success of the new XK and XF models, the introduction of the all-new XJ is a landmark for the revitalised Jaguar brand, the company said.
Jaguar hopes the XJ will extend the appeal of the XJ to a new generation of customers.

To complement the all-new cabin design is a level of choice in colours, veneers and leathers not seen before in a Jaguar.
Three specification levels – Luxury, Premium Luxury and Portfolio – allow the customer to tailor the car to suit their tastes.
Beyond this are the Supercharged and the top-of-the-range Supersport, the latter providing the ultimate expression of performance and luxury, with a specification that includes a leather roof-lining, semi-aniline leather seats and veneers with laser inlays.
Some driving comfort technologies utilised include the Adaptive Dynamics – which is continuously variable damping – an air suspension system, and active differential control.
Inside the car, advanced new technologies have allowed Jaguar’s designers to create an environment more akin to a state-of-the-art living space than a simple car cabin.
12.3-inch high-definition Virtual Instruments complement an 8-inch Touch-screen that can project DVD movies or television programmes to the passenger while the driver views vehicle functions or follows satellite navigation.
Premium surround sound options include the top-of-the-range 1200W Bowers & Wilkins system.
Advanced infotainment features also include hard drive-based audio and navigation systems, and comprehensive connectivity for portable audio and video devices via the Media Hub.
