The Government is looking to determine the ministry or agency that will undertake the responsibility of managing the electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure in the country.
“We are determining whether it is the Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water (KeTTHA), Ministry of Transport, Land Public Transport Commission or the private sector,” KeTTHA Minister Datuk Seri Peter Chin Fah Kui said.
“We are in the midst of an ongoing discussion and tests are being carried out while data are being collected,” he told reporters at “General Electric Co. (GE) and Naza Electric Vehicle (EV) Experience” here today.
Chin said his ministry, under the National Automotive Policy, has been tasked to prepare the EV Infrastructure Roadmap.
Phase 1, which consisted of the Checklist and Recommendations for Quick Wins as a fundamental document to enable EV pilot demonstration projects to be carried out, has already been completed, he said.
