KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 19 – Shell Malaysia Tradings Sdn Bhd aims to save 10 percent of customers’ fuel consumption by sharing its Shell Fuelsave Tips and promoting the use of its Shell Super with fuel economy formula, its retail national sales manager Shairan Huzani Husain said Tuesday.
He told Bernama the two elements could help customers increase fuel efficiency and reduce motoring cost especially in light of the recent fuel price increase.
“We hope more motorists will use our fuel with good driving habits so that Malaysians will benefit,” he said on the sidelines of the prize presentation of Shell One Tank Challenge.
“Although it is a bit weird an oil company is propagating saving of fuel consumption, Shell is here to stay for a long time and has the consumers’ interests at heart.
“Imagine if the same saving is achieved today, the 10 percent saving multiplied by about seven million cars in Malaysia, that’s wonderful for us,” he said.
Asked if the fuel price hike has led to slower sales at petrol stations, Shairan said they saw a slight decline in June as compared to May but expects sales to pick up.
To achieve this goal, Shell have launched The Shell FuelSave Challenge. It aims to show how small changes in driving habits, together with the right fuel, can make a big difference to fuel economy.
