SUNGAI PETANI, Dec 23 – Sales of Toyota used vehicles went up by 68 percent from 1,585 units last year to 2,667 units this year, said UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd (UMWT) Executive Director, Aminar Rashid Salleh.
The increase in sales is partly contributed by the expansion of Topmark satellite retail outlets, he said at the official opening of Topmark Sungai Petani here today.
“At Topmark, customers will get good quality pre-owned cars which we prepare and repair to give customers the best value for money,” he said.
He said Topmark’s performance this year was much better than last year with overall trade-in units as at November was 13,195 units, 28 percent higher than the 10,309 units in 2007.
Topmark pilot branch was set up in Petaling Jaya in 2000 and now it has a total network of seven branches located in Peninsular Malaysia, with a total of 150 staff.
Aminar Rashid said out of the seven branches, four are regional hubs strategically located in Petaling Jaya, Butterworth, Johor Bahru and Kuantan and reporting to these four regional hubs, are three satellite retail oulets located in Cheras and Jalan Ipoh in Kuala Lumpur, and Sungai Petani.
He said to enhance their commitment to valued customers, Topmark has introduced Pre-owned Vehicles certificate to assure customers that the retail cars purchased from them have undergone stringent screening and inspection.
“Topmark has plans to further improve its products and services to customers including the introduction of the exclusive range of certified pre-owned Toyota Vehicles and also expansion of Topmark network to 14 outlets in the next five years,” he said.
