REAR SEAT BELT RULES ON JAN 1 2009

Recently our government have made a decision to make “wearing rear seat belt” as a compulsory. And many negative responses from us which they need to take into their logical thinking and consideration. It is not a necessary actually to ask the passenger fasten their seatbelt and it is not fair for a family with low income and more child. Maybe this rule is one of the tactic to make the future proton MPV “laku” as the low income family persuaded to buy an MPV which can fit in their family so that they are not overloading their cars and getting the ticket from “abang polis”.

They said that this rules will avoid accident? How? If they want to avoid accident, avoid the main cause of accident! Do more safety campaign on the TV or whatever. If the accident is going to happened, then it will happen even if the passengers are wearing seatbelt. And if the driver wants to drive faster and in a dangerous manner, they should ask their passenger to fasten the seatbelt for safety or automatically the passengers will alert about their safety.

Its all about minded and to open driver’s mind how seatbelt can save their passenger’s life. Not imposing this nonsense rules.

Anyway, below is the news regarding wearing seatbelt and the punishment if they overload their vehicles by harian metro :

Majlis berkenaan disempurnakan Timbalan Ketua Setiausaha Kementerian Pengangkutan, Datuk Long See Woo yang mewakili Menteri Pengangkutan, Datuk Ong Tee Keat. Turut hadir, Pengerusi Proton Holdings Bhd, Datuk Mohammed Azlan Hashim dan Pengarah Urusannya, Datuk Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir.
