Puspakom Plans To Buy Mobile Vehicle Inspection Units, Says Salamat
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 31 (Bernama) — Puspakom Sdn Bhd plans to buy several mobile vehicle inspection units, each costing RM2.5 million, this year to examine road worthiness of passenger and commercial vehicles, its chief executive officer Datuk Salamat Wahid said Friday.
He said the units are being introduced as an alternative to Puspakom’s static computerised inspection centres operating nationwide.
The mobile units will serve customers in rural and isolated areas who faced problems sending their vehicles for inspection at the static centres in towns, he said.
“Currently, Puspakom has two mobile units serving in Peninsular Malaysia. The newly-acquired units will be in service in Gua Musang and Jerantut,” he told reporters after attending a function to appreciate Puspakom’s services.
Asked on customers’ response to the mobile unit service, Salamat said it was very encouraging as the charges were cheap, only RM50 per inspection.
He said Puspakom would also open new computerised inspection centres in Glenmarie (Shah Alam), Segamat and Bintulu to meet customers’ growing demand.
