PROTON EXORA WILL BOOST SALES – PROTON EDAR
The Proton Edar Dealers Association Malaysia expects the new Proton Exora to be well received and to increase Proton’s average car sales by at least 30 per cent
THE Proton Edar Dealers Association Malaysia (PEDA) expects the newly launched Proton Exora multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) to increase sales for each dealer by an average of 10 units.
“Given the quality and price of the new Proton Exora, we are confident it would be well received and increase Proton’s average car sales by at least 30 per cent,” said Armin Baniaz Pahamin, the acting president of PEDA in a statement today.
He added that it would enable urban dealers with average sales at 35 cars of various mix model variance, to break even.
“The urban dealers need to sell at least 40 cars monthly to break even,” he explained.
He also said that based on the monthly production, each branch and dealer would be allocated at least 10 Proton Exora units per month.
The new Proton Exora is the ninth addition to Proton’s range of cars and among the current model variances, the most saleable are the Proton Saga and Proton Persona, PEDA said.
PEDA also said the Proton Exora together with the Proton Saga and Proton Persona is expected to contribute to 80 per cent of total sales.
It said customers who book Proton Exora MPV prior to the launch today would be given priority in delivery.
To date, PEDA members have received more than 2,000 bookings for the new Proton Exora nationwide and this too, without the customers having even seen the new car.
