According to Naza, the new car codenamed T73 which is based on Peugeot 308 hatchback converted to sedan will be launched early 2012. They are waiting for the installation of car assembly machine at Gurun Kedah. The new T73 will be named as either 308 sedan or Peugeot 408 2012.
“The car will be assembled in the factory soon. “The production line will start in the third quarter,” Roslan said at the group’s breaking-of-the-fast with members of the media yesterday.
According to recent reports, the T73 sedan, the codename for the car, is based on the 308 hatchback and the “408” name is not confirmed for the Malaysian market.
Roslan said the Gurun plant has the capacity to produce up to 50,000 units per annum with two shifts.
