2011 FORD FIESTA RC WRC
Ford Fiesta RS WRC World Rally Car, made its first global public appearance at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. It will make its competition debut in Rally Sweden, the opening round of the 2011 FIA World Rally Championship, on 10 – 13 February.
Testing of the Focus RS WRC replacement, which was initially done in Britain and France using the outgoing Fiesta’s engine and a prototype of the new one, will continue next week in Spain.
It based of the Ford Fiesta S2000 rally car and special for Paris, the preview model has been finished in a striking blue and grey livery. Ford of Europe’s design team and M-Sport have worked together to fine-tune the styling of the bodywork and aerodynamic package of the new Fiesta to create an exciting replacement for the outgoing Focus RS WRC.
The Fiesta rally car will boast four-wheel drive transmission and a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine, based on the all-new Ford EcoBoost engine family, to comply with new regulations. The engine family features direct petrol injection and turbocharging to maximise performance and efficiency.
2012 RENAULT ZOE
Renault ZOE will be available in 2012. Power comes from an 80-horsepower / 60 kW electric motor that makes 222 Nm / 164 lb-ft of torque. This little electric econobox gets some high-end passenger comfort tech
Time to charger take about from 6 to 8 hours and can be done (primarily) two different ways: either with a Wall Box that you connect to your home’s outlet, or by optional EVSE (Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment).
Also possible, should an infrastructure appear sometime soon, is what the company calls a “Fast Charge”; this gives the car a 37-mile emergency run after only ten minutes of charging.
In the interior, Renault ZOE created for passenger comfort with humidity-regulating climate control system with an integrated toxicity sensor and scent diffuser. It also provides “light therapy”, which is being co-developed with Philips (apparently a “world-renowned light therapy specialist”).
The concept seen here is 4.1 meters long and rides on 19-inch wheels.
