The medium-sized hatchback, which comfortably seats five adults, is powered by lithium ion cells that power the 80 kW (107-hp) electric motor with a peak torque of 208 lb-ft. On a full-charge, the Nissan LEAF allows for a driving range of 160km.Charging time takes approximately 8 hours on a standard 200V outlet. However, buyers can opt for the DC 50kW quick-charger, which recharges the battery up to 80 percent in under 30 minutes.
Now all you need to do is to wait for the necessary charging infrastructure to catch up, and you just might see these electric cars coming soon to a road near you.
