Suzuki Malaysia Automobile Sdn Bhd, the official distributor of Suzuki cars, has launched the Suzuki Alto 1.0, a fully imported supermini from Maruti Suzuki in India brings the fight to local heavyweights Perodua Viva, Proton Savvy and Inokom i10.Offered in six colours and available for viewing at all 29 Suzuki showrooms, the Suzuki Alto is expected to achieve monthly sales target of 150 units for Suzuki. Alto is made in concept form in Delhi Motor Show, called A-Star.
Three variants are available:
1.0 Manual GA – RM 44,888 (on-the-road without insurance)
1.0 Auto GLX – RM 49,999 (on-the-road without insurance)
1.0 Auto GSX (Premium Package) – RM 54,888 (on-the-road without insurance)
Measuring 3500 mm in length, 2360 mm in wheelbase, 1600 mm in width and 1470 mm in height, the Alto is shorter in length, wheelbase and height but wider in width compared with the Viva.
Suzuki Alto is powered by 996cc 3-cylinder K10B paired with 5-speed manual or 4 speed automatic transmission engine which able to push on 67 bhp and 90 Nm or torque at 3400 rpm. Suzuki Alto is using MacPherson struts with 3 link rigid axle at back, front ventilated disk brakes and rear drums. It’s a four seated car with only 2 sets of seat belts at back, rear self winding windows and wing windows manual.The Alto has only 2 sets of seatbelts at the back, making it a four-seater officially, but there are two ISOFIX child seat anchorages.
