SHELL CONFIDENT OF MAINTAINING POLE POSITION IN LUBRICANT MARKET
KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 14 — Shell Malaysia is optimistic that it will maintain pole position in the lubricant market with the launch of new Shell Advance 4T motorcycle oils today.
The company’s general manager (lubricants) for South East Asia-South Cluster, Tan Min Yih, said Shell would be organising roadshows in key cities in Peninsular Malaysia to directly promote the product.
The company would be giving out limited packs of the new Shell Advance 4T at each venue as part of its on-ground promotion.
“We are the global market leader for four consecutive times with 13.4 per cent of market share globally based on the 2009 data.
“We achieved a clear gap from our nearest competitor by almost 2.5 per cent despite the downturn of 8.0 per cent in terms of oil demand in 2008,” he told reporters after launching the products here.
Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd and Shell Timur Sdn Bhd’s managing director, Azman Ismail, said the introduction of the products reflected Shell’s commitment to constantly innovate, improve and deliver the best products in their class to customers.
“With the new products, we are not only setting new standards in terms of engine protection and performance but also making the products more user-friendly and the benefits more tangible to customers,” he said.
The Shell Advance 4T range is available in four clearly tiered and easily differentiated products designed for specific types of motorcycles and performance requirements.
The packaging features a refreshed Shell Advance logo, improved graphics, clear alphanumeric product names and clearly stated upfront application on the front label to prevent confusion.
