The new R8?s 5.2-litre V10 engine puts out a staggering 525hp and 530Nm of torque. Paired with the newer and slicker transmission, the R8?s 0-100kph time has been shaved by 0.3 seconds. It now does the century sprint in 3.6 seconds all the way to a top speed of 314kph.
Features bundled with the new R8 include 19-inch 10-spoke wheels, high-performance ventilated steel brake discs (ceramics are optional), magnetic ride adaptive damping, ESP with sports mode which can be fully deactivated if desired and all-LED headlights. On the inside, the R8 gets a Fine Nappa Leather upholstery with a 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio setup paired to Audi’s MMI navigation system.
Prices for the updated R8 start at RM1,250,000 on-the-road before add-ons. Also included is a 4-year, 120,000km warranty.
