Maintenance free car battery nowadays oftenly used compare to conventional normal refill car battery. Which one is better? Most people think that maintenance free is better. In terms of less work to do, yes it is. But actually the normal refill with distilled water car battery is better in terms of life span.
Normal refill battery last up to 4 years compare to maintenance free battery which last up to 2 years only. That is why the warranty is normally within one year only.

Eventhough the price of normal refill battery is cheaper, it last longer than maintenance free. Provided that you check the water level periodically especially before long distance journey.
According to car battery seller, now they are not much different between all brand of batteries because all of them now are manufactured in Malaysia and provide same warranty period. Between GP or Century or other car batteries, all are made in Malaysia.
The price of car battery is normally between RM130 to RM250. And the price differences between free maintenance battery and normal refill battery is just around RM20. It is just the matter of last longer or too lazy to check the water level.. =P
useful information in that now that we know free maintenance battery last longer. My other question is if car is not used regularly which type battery last longer without recharging ?
My maintenance free Century Marathoner is nearly 3 years old now and engine startup is still ok. If the battery dies by this year, then I will buy the normal refill battery next time.
