LIMBANG FUEL KIOSKS CAN SELL RON 95 PETROL TO FOREIGN VEHICLES
KUCHING, July 27 — Fuel kiosks in Limbang in northern Sarawak are exempted from the prohibition on the sale of RON 95 petrol to foreign-registered vehicles to be enforced on Aug 1.
Sarawak Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism director Wan Ahmad Uzir Wan Sulaiman said Tuesday the relaxation was given because these kiosks did not sell RON 97 like the kiosks elsewhere in the state.
“The sale of RON 95 petrol to foreign-registered cars there is restricted to 20 litres per vehicle, sufficient to get the vehicles to reach the Limbang/Brunei border,” he told Bernama.
Under the subsidy rationalisation scheme, only RON 97 petrol is available for foreign-registered vehicles, which usually purchase the fuel in the border areas.
