KTM launched the new electric train service from Kuala Lumpur to Padang Besar north of Malaysia with the fee of just RM81 per trip and takes 4-5 hours only to reach the end of terminal. This is a good move to reduce traffic congestion during feative season and people who travel by bus previously can go balik kampung in a high speed train comfortably.
KTM ETS ELECTRIC TRAIN SERVICE FROM KL TO PADANG BESAR
KUALA KANGSAR: The Electric Train Service (ETS) from Kuala Lumpur to Padang Besar will start running from Friday.
Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said trains would ply the northern route twice daily, with fares from Kuala Lumpur to Padang Besar priced at RM81.
“We have ordered 10 sets of the electric trains, and once they are ready, the frequency will increase,” he added.
Liow was speaking to reporters after a test run on one of the brand new electric trains from Batu Gajah to Kuala Kangsar.
