PUTRAJAYA: The Cabinet has approved RM15mil for a drag racing track to be built in the Klang valley within a year, said Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek.
“We have identified several locations,” he said after hosting a lunch for Moto2 rider Hafizh Syahrin Abdullah and F1 aspiring driver Nabil Jeffri in Seri Kembangan near here on Wednesday.
“Another three would be built in stages nationwide,” he said.
Drag racing is a competition in which specially prepared automobiles or motorcycles compete, usually two at a time, to be first to cross a set finish line.
The vehicles race in a straight line from a standing start over a measured distance, most commonly a quarter mile (400m).
