Jaguar XKR
Last week, Sisma Auto Sdn Bhd (Jaguar’s sole importer and distributor in Malaysia) has launched the revised Jaguar XKR and XFR in Pavilion, Kuala Lumpur. The stunning coupe has the same V8 pot and numbers as the latter, though it is slightly quicker off the bat at 4.8secs for the century dash.Official press release materials openly stated that the XFR is aimed to compete against the BMW M5, Merc E63 AMG and also Audi RS6.
Both the XFR and XKR are powered by a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine. Its peak horsepower of 510bhp comes between 6,000 and 6,500rpm, while its peak torque of 625Nm is delivered from, get this, 2,500 to 5,500rpm.
With the ‘R’ suffix, the cars look a bit aggresive, it has a revised bumper, bonnet louvres and lower air intakes, topped off by a black mesh grille.The ‘R’ Performance Aerodynamic pack also includes sill extensions, quad exhaust tips, 20-inch Nevis alloys, and a boot spoiler.
Inside, there will have the ‘R’ badges, aluminium and mesh accents as well as custom leather sports seats, with electrically adjustable side bolsters.
The XKR 5.0L Supercharged is available in both coupe and convertible guise, and prices for these are RM1,088,888 for the coupe and RM1,158,888 for the convertible respectively while the XFR is priced at RM888,888.
