Recently Ambank organised fuel efficiency test and surprisingly our national cars, Inspira, Saga and Myvi won the award in each of their category. Saga 1.3M got 6L/100km, Myvi 6.2L/100km, Inspira 2.0 6.2L/100km in small family cars, compact city cars and luxury family cars category.
INSPIRA, SAGA, MYVI WON FUEL EFFICIENCY AWARDS
Three national cars, Perodua Myvi, Proton Saga and Proton Inspira today won the Asian Auto Ambank-Fuel Efficiency Awards 2011 in various categories.
Proton Edar Chief Executive Officer, Ahmad Suhaimi Mohamed Anuar, and Perodua Executive Director, Zainal Abidin Ahmad received the award from Chief Executive Officer of AmIslamic Bank Bhd, Datuk Mahdi Murad and Director of Sapporo Malaysia, Lim Chee Yeang, at a ceremony held at a hotel near here Thursday.
Ambank is the title sponsor for the annual automotive awards which are given in recognition of car brands that offer the most fuel efficient vehicles in their respective categories in Malaysia.
The first of its kind annual award programme in Malaysia, it encourages car manufacturers to offer better quality vehicles with the latest engineering and technologies that promote fuel efficiency.
AmBank Managing Director (retail banking) Datuk Mohamed Azmi Mahmood in his speech, said as a premier auto financier in the country, AmBank was always ready to meet the customers to accommodate their needs in vehicle purchase and insurance.
“As such, an award such as this is very much in line with our efforts to support our customers with better options and decisions,” he said.
A total of 34 car companies participated to vie for 54 awards offered in 18 categories at the event, held for the fourth year.
Mercedes Benz C-Class 200 CGI, the new Volvo S60 1.6 Turbo and Audi A4 1.8T won the Asian Auto Ambank – Fuel Efficiency Awards 2011 under the executive cars categories.
