INFINITI EX35
The Infiniti EX35 has a 3.5-liter V6 pumping nearly 300 horsepower to the rear wheels and a lower-than-it-looks stance, this is a sport hatch masquerading in crossover clothing. The stylish 19-inch split-spoke wheels of tester also helped lend the design a little sportiness. Unfortunately, dark black plastic trim traces the vehicle’s lower hemisphere, eroding some of the EX35’s premium presence.
FORD C-MAX HYBRID
The transmission, sending power to the front wheels, is an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (HF 35 eCVT). Electrical energy, captured through regenerative braking or from the internal combustion engine (ICE), is stored in lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries placed directly over the rear axle. Ford says the C-Max will run up to100km/h in pure EV mode.
NISSAN PATHFINDER
The 114.2-inch wheelbase is two inches longer than the old Pathfinder (the body itself is nearly five inches longer overall), and the 2013 adds 4.4 inches of width, as well. In a sign that this new generation is more of a crossover than an off-road bruiser, overall height has dropped by a full three inches, two of which are accounted for in the reduced 6.5-inch ground clearance that allows for better ingress and egress.
JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE 4X4
Its includes Quadra Trac II all-wheel drive featuring a terrain selection knob that optimize grip for sand, snow, or loose gravel. In addition, standard Hill Descent Control steadies on long declines, while mud and snow rated 265/60R18 Michelin Latitude Tour tires get a sure grip on steep ascents.
