NASIM SDN BHD DONATES RM200,000 TO HOSPIS MALAYSIA
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 28 — Hospis Malaysia, a charitable organisation offering professional palliative care to patients suffering from life-limiting illness, has received a RM200,000 donation from a car distributor.
Nasim Sdn Bhd, a member of the Naza Group of Companies and the official distributor of the Peugeot brand in Malaysia, raised the money from the sale of Peugeot cars and spare parts during a corporate social responsibility exercise launched in July.
In a statement Thursday, Naza said the donation was presented to Hospis Malaysia by Nasim chief executive officer SM Nasarudin SM Nasimuddin recently.
“We hope this contribution to Hospis Malaysia will help the organisation continue its great work in caring for patients with terminal illnesses,” said Nasarudin, who is also Naza Group executive chairman.
Hospis Malaysia council member Brigadier General (Rtd) Datuk Richard Robless said the services provided by the organisation were free of charge and it depended on donations from companies and private individuals to carry out operations.
Hospis Malaysia offers palliative care to patients suffering from life-limiting illnesses such as cancer and Aids, who live in the Klang Valley.
It currently provides both home-care and day-care services to its patients.
For the former, Hospis Malaysia sends its nurses to provide care and assistance to patients and their families at their homes.
