Travelling in Indonesia, Surabaya to be specific, the most efficient way to get around the Surabaya is by using their taxi or taksi services which uses meter system to charge the customer or passenger fairly. Toyota vios is the most widely used sedan car for taxi services. Instead of Toyota Vios, malaysian made car proton Wira and Hyundai are also another type of taxi.
Vios blue colour, orange or red. Usually the colour of their taxi is blue and white. The blue colour is quite cool on a taxi compare to red or white. Travelling in a vios taxi is quite suffering if there are 4 passenger inside due to the space is smaller than Hyundai and Wira. The front legroom is also short while the width for rear passenger is not comfortable especially in old model vios.
The rate of taxi service in Indonesia is quite cheap and is based on meter system. The first charge is IDR 5000 Rupiah ( IDR2700 = RM1) which is about RM2. Going around the city usually needs you to pay around IDR20,000 which is around RM7. Don’t use taxi on peak hours 5-6 pm weekdays due to traffic jam if you prefer to use meter system.
