First concept car out of the gate today here in Paris came from the world’s biggest automaker, and while the GM heavies were busy talking about silliness like the impending conclusion (October 14th, remember to mark it down in your datebooks, kiddies) of the GM-Renault-Nissan talks (or as Carlos Ghosn’s been calling it “One automaker to rule them all”) we were all about the pretty new thing sitting on the dais.
It’s Chevrolet’s WTCC Ultra (World Touring Car Championship), and it’s “what a muscle car for the world market would like,” to quote the chief design lead, Ewan Kingsbury. Apparently GM means a dystopian world without Australia’s Holden and the United States’ Chevrolet — but regardless, this piece of iron’s got a 1.9 liter diesel generating 190 hp. The Ultra’s got an independent wheel suspension on McPherson struts on both axles. The lower wheel control at the front is taken care of by an A-frame arm, while at the back, two additional wishbones and one trailing arm link the wheels precisely to the chassis.
This car is extremely modified with full bodykit integrated with futuristic design. What I will say that this chevrolet race car is very beautiful and perfect body shape as a compact race car. I wonder if i can get one of this. =)
