BHPetrol’s popular Race Ace event is back again for 2010 and with a new format, it promises to be even more exciting.
The very first Race Ace was a remote-controlled car racing tournament which experienced a surprisingly huge success when it ran in 2007. The success of the inaugural event led to ‘Race Ace 2’ which was a Go-Kart Challenge held around Peninsular Malaysia during 2009.
The Race Ace 2 Go-Kart Challenge began at Selangor’s Shah Alam Go-Kart track with a record-breaking attendance of 1000 racing enthusiasts. After a series of heats, the Grand Finals were held at the Genting Highlands Outdoor Theme Park where 90 finalists vied for top prizes, of which RM30,000 was the Grand Prize followed by RM20,000 and RM10,000 for the second and third place respectively.
In addition to great success of the event, the Race Ace 2 Go-Kart Challenge also earned the distinction of being one of the most exciting and biggest Go-Kart races in Malaysia.
AXLE BHPetrol Racing, a new partnership formed this year between BHPetrol and Axle Motorsport, is confident that this year, they have an event that will top its previous successes. Having already dominated both the remote-controlled car and go-kart scenes, where else could the organisers possibly expand? In keeping with the latest trends and developments in technology, Race Ace 3 promises to be even more exciting this year, by taking race into the world of virtual reality!
With prizes of up to RM50,000 in cash and merchandise, Race Ace 3 takes the driving craze online in a virtual 2D Go Kart Racing Game Contest that will bring out the best in avid racing fans!
It’s easy to take part in Race Ace 3 as there is no purchase required. To enter, all you have to do is to visit any BHPetrol station and take a picture of yourself against the Race Ace 3 Weekly Photo Board. Then register online and upload the picture you’ve taken onto www.raceace3.com.my. Only those who have registered will be allowed to participate in this online game which runs for 10 consecutive weeks until June 6 2010.
During the event, each player is expected to race 3 laps around a predetermined track. Each week, 10 winners will be judged on the basis of the fastest recorded lap.
Sounds pretty easy, doesn’t it? But here’s the catch: as a contestant, you MUST attempt all 10 weekly games and answer a simple question about AXLE BHPetrol Racing. The Top 10 Winners over the course of the 10 weeks (for a total of 100 winners), will be invited for the BHPetrol Race Ace 3 Grand Final.
The final showdown will showcase 3 Racing Game stations with 2 consoles each for the knockouts and Grand Final rounds. The 100 participants will be invited to attempt a Qualifying Lap from which 32 top racers with the best recorded times will be chosen. These 32 racers will then go on to race against each other via a Knock Out System to determine the Grand Prize Winner.
