BABY BOY FOUND IN LORRY TYRE
A newly-born baby boy was found abandoned in a lorry tyre that was used as a direction marker in Kampung Tuah, Bukit Sentosa, Hulu Selangor, around noon Wednesday.
The baby, whose umbilical cord was still intact and wrapped in a piece of cloth, was found by a kindergarten teacher.
Hulu Selangor police chief Supt Norel Azmi Affandi Yahya said the teacher was on her way back to the kindergarten when she discovered the baby in the tyre.
“The baby was healthy and not injured. There was no note or money left with the baby and we believe he had just been abandoned there,” he said when contacted by Bernama Wednesday.
The baby was brought by police to the Kuala Kubu Bharu Hospital for treatment and will be temporarily placed under the care of the Welfare Department.
Norel Azmi urged members of the public with information on the case to contact the Hulu Selangor police headquarters at 03-60641222, or the nearest police station.
